You can help us adopt our first child (or children) from Russia. Mostly we need funds. Closer to the time we bring her (or them) home, we'll need food and toys and such. We pretty much have furniture.
One way we hope to earn funds is by offering services. We've been brainstorming ideas we can do or skills we have that we can offer in return for donations. We are trading in one of our cars for a pickup truck and that added fuel to our brainstorming fire. You'll find those services we've brainstormed on our Classified Ads page.
Another way we plan to raise funds is by selling items. I haven't yet worked up the list of what all we can sell online. In the spring we'll have another garage sale (You can donate gently-used furniture, toys, and items--no clothes, please--to help us in that!) with all the proceeds going into our adoption savings account. We might also sell some or do some other fundraisers as time goes on.

Another thing we are going to sell is a cookbook. We're going to call it (hopefully) The Person and Families' Custom Recipes and Concoctions and get recipes from our families to help fill it. We are still deciding how many recipes we can nag out of our families and then how we will publish it. In the meantime, I'd like to try and get an idea about how many we could know we could sell. Please fill out the Cookbook Survey form below and let us know if you'd be willing to buy one when it comes out.
We will, of course, be applying to grants and no or low interest loans in the future. Most of those need you to be actually in the process of adopting and since we have to do the home study first, we aren't officially in the process until we've done that. So those will have to wait.
And of course, we'll accept straight donations by hand (e-mail us and we'll work out how or tell you our address) or online through Paypal (You can use a credit card or your bank account). Use the button below and at least say "adoption" in the Notes so we'll know it's a donation, as I also use that Paypal account to sell things on eBay.
