Season 2. page 2

Vanishing Point: Reed is at the situation table with T'Pol when she reports another storm threatening the away team of Hoshi and Trip. He explains the storms are diamagnetic and saturated with polaric energy. Archer calls Hoshi and Trip to tell them they are beaming up and that he's sent Malcolm down to the transporter. Hoshi and Trip go back in the ruins they were studying to pack. Hoshi is nervous but Trip tells her that the captain has done it and Malcolm did it twice. Trip goes first and calls Enterprise. Malcolm answers and beams him up. Then Hoshi calls up and Malcolm begins the transport. And she materializes on the transporter pad in front of him. Later, at dinner, Trip, Reed, and Travis are laughing together, playfully arguing that Trip said something. Hoshi arrives and Travis asks her how the transport was. Reed tells him to let her eat her supper. He goes on eating as she and Trip talk about it. She wants to find out what happened to the people they used when they tested the transporter. Malcolm says, "You mean other than Cyrus Ramsey?" But she's never heard of him. Trip tells her the story. Reed tells her that everyone knows about Cyrus Ramsey. The captain calls to set up the trip to retrieve the other shuttlepod, then the three men get up and leave. The next morning, Archer tells Hoshi that Trip and Travis have been taken hostage by the people on the planet (that was unoccupied). Archer asks Reed if he's found their biosigns. He says they are still in the complex but he's still trying to isolate the specific chamber. He looks up when an alien voice comes over the comm system from Travis's comm badge. Hoshi has trouble with the UT and Reed tells Hoshi that maybe she should forget about it and just talk to them. Archer assigns someone else to communications then has Malcolm go with him to his Ready Room. In the turbolift, Hoshi hears voices, Reed's and Trip's, encouraging her to something. After Hosih has gone transparent, Hoshi hears an alien voice then goes to investigate, only to hear Reed and Trip again, just like before. Hoshi sees and then tries to stop aliens from blowing up the ship. But after they arm their bomb and transport away, she hears Trip and Reed more clearly, talking about the transport. Reed says the stream is unstable. Reed voice tells her she can do it. It's as easy as 1, 2... "Three," he says with a sigh as she materializes on the tranporter pad. Trip tells him, "Nice work." Hoshi asks if they can see and hear her. Malcolm tells her everything is fine. He tells her the transporter was affected by the storms. He had trouble reintegrating her matter stream. He tells her she was trapped in the buffer for 8.3 seconds. She asks Trip for a mirror and Reed asks, "What?" In the Sickbay, Archer tells Hoshi that Malcolm is recommending some new tranport protocols to Starfleet, like compressing the transport beam.

Precious Cargo: After Trip doesn't answer his comm, Archer calls Reed. Reed meets one of the alien cargo ship pilot to "escort" them back to his ship. As they approach the ship, the other alien fires, and Reed and his officer duck. So does the captain. He is pinned down but the other alien gets in his ship and disconnects the docking clamps. Reed tries to stop it. Archer comes and tells him to secure the clamps, but the alien breaks ship away. They return to the Bridge. Archer asks for phase cannons when the ship won't answer a hail. He tells Reed to target his engines. Reed reports a direct hit, knocking the ship out of warp. The ship releases a cloud and then goes to warp. The captain tells Reed he thought he knocked out a nacelle. Reed says he thought he did, too. Travis reports they can't go to warp, and Reed says the cloud got into the plasma vents. They'll have to be purged. Later, Reed brings the prisoner (the pilot they have) to a darkened room where the captain waits. They speak in menacing tones. Reed asks if there will be anything else and Archer dismisses him. Trip and the kidnapped monarch are on an uninhabited world, Enterprise finds them just after they've dispatched the last pilot. Archer, Reed, and T'Pol come across Trip in his underwear with the monarch bent over with their hands in the water. Reed laughs quietly as Archer asks if it's a bad time.

The Catwalk: A few aliens contact Enterprise looking for refuge from a neutronic wavefront coming in. The senior staff gathers around the Situation table as T'Pol explains the wavefront. Reed says that if they reinforce structural integrity and weather it. Trip suggests the catwalk in each nacelle as a place to shelter the crew, who Phlox says won't survive more than 3 minutes in the wavefront without adequate sheilding. The entire crew moves into the catwalks. T'Pol reports that Lt. Reed has completed his modifications. Archer exits his Ready Room and Reed looks up from Tactical. He, the captain, and T'Pol transfer major systems to the makeshift command post in the catwalk and then shut down main power on teh rest of the ship. Then they head toward the catwalks themselves. Reed paces as the captain makes an announcement. Everyone shakes around as the storm hits and then things settle with an occasional shake. Reed visits the doctor and quietly asks to confirm doctor/patient confidentiality. Phlox asks if it has to do with gastrointestinal distress. Reed asks if it's that obvious. Phlox tells him no, but it's in his medical file, something about an unfortunate incident during 0G training. Reed says Starfleet trainees called the vomitorium. Phlox says he's treated a number of crewman for motion sickness and gives him a hypo that should help for 12 hours. The captain comes by as he leaves and asks if he's feeling alright. He says, "Never better", and walks past the captain but fights nausea as the ship shakes again. A few days, Reed is playing cards with Trip and Hoshi. He says he'll see Travis's strawberry shortcake and raise him one pineapple cobbler. He says he'd like a shower about now and says maybe Trip could look into building one. Trip asks if he'd like a sauna while they're at it. Reed argues he knew they'd be stuck in there for a week and he could have made it tolerable. Trip argues he only had four hours and he's lucky h has a toilet. Reed says he overestimated Trip's people's abilities when it comes to indoor plumbing. Trip tells him to build a shower himself. Chef brings by pot roast and Reed complains it's the third time in three days. Then Travis asked which movie is playing. Reed exclaimes, "We're having movie night? In here?" Travis thinks something's burning, so they all rush over to the aliens. Trip takes their skillet and hands it to Reed to give to Chef, because he has to report to the command post. After Trip returns from a trip to Engineering in an EV suit--and spotting a bunch of aliens of the same species as the three in the catwalks--the senior staff surrounds the three in the catwalks while Archer questions them. They admit to being deserters. Reed says the militia trying to reinitialize the warp reactor. He says it seems they've already decided to help themselves to Enterprise. T'Pol says they do outnumber the militia but there are only 3 EV suits. Reed volunteers to take Security and bring back more, but Trip says he wouldn't get very far as the launch bay is crawling with militia. The lights in the ceiling begin to flare. The warp core will heat up the catwalks, they have 20 minutes before it kills everyone. Reed, Archer, and T'Pol suit up. Trip helps ready Malcolm's suit. They split up and Archer tells them not to be late at the catwalk. T'Pol and Reed get in position. Reed tells Trip to go ahead with instructions. Trip calls again to ask what's the hold up. T'Pol says they are having trouble with the dilithium sequencers. She reports they are disabling the final sequencer. T'Pol and Reed return to the catwalk after shutting down the warp reactor. They head toward an eddy to get the militia to retreat. Then Travis has to get away from it. When he does, Reed puts a hand on his shoulder. On the eighth day, the crew is watching a western. Trip asks Reed if one of them just shot his own guy. Reed says it's hard to tell them apart in those ridiculous hats. T'Pol tells them that he was secretly working for the bad guy. Trip asks how she knows and she asks if it isn't obvious. Reed and Trip just look at each other and shrug. The captain announces that they'll be out of the storm sooner than though. Reed claps the handrail as others cheer. Then the whole crew files out of the catwalk and T'Pol reports that everyone is out.

Dawn: Trip tests upgrades to the shuttlepod's autopilot and gets shot down. Enterprise goes to find him. Reed reports he detected weapons fire and then both vessels disappeared. Archer asks if he's got a last known position. Reed gives him the details and a possible heading. The sensors are experiencing interference. Reed is at Tactical when an Arconian military vessel arrives and tells them to leave their territory. Archer talks them into working together to find their missing crewmen. Reed is on the Bridge whe when Enterprise receives a transmission. Once they reach contact Trip, Archer orders Reed to get to the transporter, but Phlox says it will kill the Arconian that's with Trip.

Stigma: Reed is exercising on a stationary bike when Trip comes in to complain about Phlox's wife hitting on him. Reed laughs and says he finds it attactive but Trip tells him to be serious. He thinks he should tell Phlox but Reed tells him it's not a tood idea. He suggest it might be easier to avoid her advances than to tell Phlox. He once saw him get angry when one of his creatures bit him and it wasn't a pretty sight. Trip goes to Phlox and says that Malcolm said it was a bad idea but he is going to say it anyway. Later, a packing T'Pol tells Archer that Lt. Reed said he'd gone to the surface.

Cease Fire: Reed is at his post on the Bridge when the Vulcans call to tell Enterprise about the shuttlepod being shot down. When the Vulcan says their mission is to recover Soval, Reed asks about Enterprise's officers. He's still on the Bridge when the Andorian ships drop out of warp. He reports to Trip that the Vulcan ships must see them, too, as they are breaking orbit to get room to maneuver. Trip orders him to put the ship on tactical alert. He complies. The Andorian ships head toward the Vulcans and Reed reports both are charging weapons. Trip orders Travis to put Enterprise right between them and Reed asks, if he doesn't mind asking, what he has in mind. Trip tells both the Vulcans and the Andorians that he'll fire on any vessel that makes an aggressive move. He ask for phase cannons and Reed replies, "Locked and ready." Reed reports the Vulcan ships breaking orbit for the planet. Travis says the Andorians going, too. Trip orders Reed to arm forward phase cannons and try to target their weapons, but when the captain calls, he tells Reed to hold off. When the captain catches him up on events, Trip tells Reed to cancel the tactical alert.

Future Tense: Enterprise finds a derelict ship. Reed reports no weapons signatures and suggests an accident might have caused it. Archers orders the ship brought in Launch Bay 2, and Reed complies. He, Archer, and T'Pol go down to Launch Bay 2 to examine it. Reed notes there are no windows and he can't say which end is the bow or stern. T'Pol finds what might be a hatch, and Reed says that if it is, it's been fused shut. He asks permission and then retreives a phase pistol and uses it to cut through the hatch's seal. Archer crawls in and finds a corpse; Reed takes a step back. Later, Reed is scanning the ship and says the hull seems to absorb EM radiation. Without all the damage, he says it wouldn't have shown up on their sensors. He leans in to scan inside and says maybe the man got a ride from someoen to be out so far. Travis says there is no power source, and Trip asks how it could be in deep space without an engine. Reed suggests it might be an escape pod. Later, he and Trip pull back a hatch from the deck inside the ship and find some sort of biomatter. He suggests they get Phlox to come down and take a look. They unlock another hatch and Reed sets it aside. Trip asks him to confirm what he's seeing, a very long ladder down. He does and Trip asks how a ship can be bigger on the inside than the outside. Reed says it could perhaps be a hologram, and Trip throws a spanner down to test that idea. He starts down and Reed questions that says they should call the Bridge first. But he follows Trip down the ladder and they find another deck. Reed says it gives spacial exploration a whole new meaning as they enter a compartment. Trip asks him what he thinks the item is in the center of the room, but he tells Trip he's the engineer. Reed scans the wall and picks up a faint energy signature. He and Trip pull back a panel and find odd device and Reed holds the flashlight. Trip retreives it and Reed looks up as Enterprise is fired upon. They head back up. They crawl out of the old ship and Reed runs to the weapons locker after Trip is knocked out by a Suliban. He shoots that one and trie to hit the second, who gets in the control booth. He calls for Trip but Trip doesn't answer. He heads up the stairs toward the control room and the Suliban fires, knocking him off the stairs. Reed keeps firing. The Suliban transport away and Reed checks the control room. After the confrontation is over, Trip, with Reed and T'Pol, shows Archer the device they found. Archer gets called away and T'Pol goes with him, leaving Reed and Trip with the device. Later, Reed is on the Bridge when a Tholian vessel approaches. Reed reports unusual thermal readings, over 200 degrees. The ship locks on with a tractor beam and Reed reports that the beam is interfering with their targeting scanners. Later, Reed and Trip are back with the device, trying to reinitialize the power grid, though Reed says that's assuming that is the power grid they are working on. He says it boggles the mind, thinking the ship could be from the 31st century. He says he always wanted to build a time machine, to travel to the future. Trip teases that he's probably the kind of person to read the end of the book first. Reed says not to tell him he never wanders what it would be like, to find out how their mission turns out. He asks if Daniels came and offered a chance to go to the 31st century, wouldn't he take it. When Trip says some things are better left a mystery, Reed says, "And you call yourself an explorer." Trip asks Reed if, supposing he could look into a future book and find the name of the woman he'd like to marry, would he want to know it. Reed says absolutely, it would help him avoid all those awkward first dates. So Trip asks if after he's met, asked her to marry, and she's said yes, did he marry her for love or because a book told you to. Reed says if they're happy, what difference does it make? They get the power going. Reed notes the organic circuits are similar to the ones in the cockpit. Trip says that if he could see the past, he'd jump at it, saying he'd always wanted to see a stegasaurus. Reed says it make a quick meal of him and Trip reminds him that the stegasaurus was an herbivore. Reed says that if he could travel back in time, he'd go to 1588 and Trip asks why? Reed replies England defeated the Spanish Armada. Trip says he's sure someone named Reed had a lot to do with that. Then they're coming in the room and Trip is saying that if he could see the past, he'd jump at it, saying he'd always wanted to see a stegasaurus. Reed says it make a quick meal of him and Trip reminds him that the stegasaurus was an herbivore. Reed notes that it seems they were just in there. Reed says that if he could travel back in time, he'd go to--and they both say 1588. Trip asks how he knew that and Reed says they've been spending too much time together. They laugh and then they walk into the room, and Trip says that if he could see the past, he'd jump at it. Reed says, questioningly, that he'd always wanted to see a stegasaurus. Trip says, in the same tone, that it would probably make a quick meal of him. The look around the bay. On the Bridge, Phlox scans them but can't find anything wrong with them. Reed says they didn't imagine what happened. They find high energy particles emitting from the old ship, perhaps the temporal radiation. Reed says they spent a fair amount of time around that ship. T'Pol says the radiation could have affected their perception of time. Archer says that they could have been reliving the same moment. He orders Reed to seal off Launch Bay 2 and evacuate the surrounding sections. Reed leaves to do that. Later, Archer goes to Engineering where Reed and Trip are working with the device, which turns out to be a microtransmitter. T'Pol calls to report Suliban vessels approaching. Reed and Archer head to the Bridge. Reed goes to his post at Tactical. Reed reports the Suliban are charging weapons. The Suliban fires and Archer orders Reed to return fire. They take another hit and Reed reports they are losing ventral plating. Then he reports a direct hit to launch bay doors. They are trying to blast them open. Enterprise takes out one of the Suliban ships. Tholians show up and fire on the ship, disabling engines and weapons, too. Reed also reports the hull plating is depolarizing. The Suliban arrive and fight the Tholians and Reed says he never thought he'd be glad to see the Suliban. Archer asks how long it would take to remove a torpedo warhead and arm it manually. Reed answers 4 minutes, less with help. He recommends moving it as little as possible once it's removed. Archer helps him and says he'll be holding Reed to the 4 minutes but Reed says it was only an estimate. He gives Archer instructions and gets to work. They pull out the warhead and then open the torpedo again. Reed notices they it happened again. Archer asks him how far they got last time, but Reed isn't certain. He says that if time is not repeating outside the Launch Bay, the Tholians could be close. They get to work again. They get the warhead out and Archer orders Reed to the control room. They open the torpedo again and notice that it's happened again. They get to work even faster, as they've had practice. This time Reed gets to the control room while Archer puts the warhead in the old ship. Archer tells Reed to get the doors open. He orders read to blow it. Reed suggests they get more distance between Enterprise and the ship, but Archer orders him to blow it. Nothing happens. Reed and Archer return to the Bridge to find the ship dematerialized and it isn't on the Tholian ships. Archer asks why the Tholians didn't fire on Enterprise and Reed concurs that's a good question. Archer wants to give the disabled Vulcan ship they came to rendezvous with some help. He orders Reed to prep a shuttlepod.

Canamar: Hoshi tries to contact Archer on a drifing Shuttlepod One. T'Pol ask Reed to report. He says they took some weapons fire, main power is offline and gravity plating and life support, all offline. T'Pol ask for biosigns and he replies there are none. On the Bridge, the remaining senior staff listens to Archer's logs. Hoshi says the last log entry speaks of a panzan match and Reed about panzan. T'Pol asks for sensor logs but Reed says they are too badly damaged to be much help. Phlox reports on his forensic analysis that there are traces of Trip's and Archer's blood and that Lt. Reed believes they were abducted. Reed says that if they were, they didn't go without a fight. Reed is on the Bridge as T'Pol tells the Keto-Enol's representative, as that was their last known position. Reed and Trip meet an officer from the planet. He tells them that Archer and Trip were arrested for smuggling. Reed asks if they're in the habbit of arresting innocent people. The officer says mistakes can be made because smuggling is rampant. Reed says they certainly made one this time. Reed is on the Bridge as Enterprise moves to rendezvous with the transport ship Trip and Archer are. Reed and T'Pol are with the officer who says their patrol ships have orders to destroy the transport ship. He tells them that they are determined to get the man responsible for the revolt on the transport. Reed says they are determined to get their people back, and the man tells them they need to get to the tranport before the patrols do. Reed is in his post on the Bridge as Enteprise catches up to the transport as it nears Tamal, which the officer identifies as a trading outpost. Reed notes that it's a good place to get lost in the crowd. T'Pol asks for human biosigns. Reed answers two and recommends using the transporter when their in range, but the officer reminds him the transport is heavily shielded. Travis reports a small ship coming out of warp. T'Pol asks if it's a patrol ship, Reed says he doesn't think so and it has 4 Enolian biosigns. T'Pol asks how heavily armed it is and Reed replies they have fore and aft particle cannons, nothing they can't handle. When the ship docks with the transport, Archer opens the door and Reed, Travis, and a security officer team start firing. He shoots the Nausican and then gets inside, handing a phase pistol to Archer. He gets beind some cover as he and Archer keep trying to shoot the ring-leader. Archer says it seems his message got through. Reed answers. "loud and clear, sir." Archer hands Reed the device to open the hand restraints on the prisoners. Reed starts by freeing Trip. Reed and Travis help Trip get the others into the smaller ship. Reed runs back saying Travis can't maintain the docking seal much longer. He and Trip work at getting the Nausican on board. The captain gets detained by the bad guy but gets the docking hatch open again. Reed runs to him. He goes with the captain as they run back for the bad guy. He finally has to pull the captain back, sayign it's now or never. He follows the captain back into the smaller ship and it undocks. The small ship then docks with Enterprise.

The Crossing: Reed reports that sensors can't identify it's hull composition and that it doesn't seem to have a warp signature. Archer asks how big it is and Reed answers, "It's big!" A huge bay opens on the ship as it's gaining on Enterprise and Reed asks, "What the hell is that?" Enterprise is swallowed up by the larger ship. Archer calls for tactical alert, but Reed reports the weapons are offline. Archer orders Reed to prep a shuttlepod then calls Trip to join he and Malcolm in Launch Bay 1. They take a shuttle to the deck of the launch bay and then get out in EV suits. Reed scans and shows Archer the scan of the atmosphere changing to something they can breathe. Archer asks the temperature and Reed answers 18 degrees (Celcius). They walk on. Trip stops them to tell them to look at the vaporous forms hovering around Enterprise. Reed says the scanner doesn't show anything, as if they're not there. He asks who modified the atmosphere if there aren't any lifeforms. Several vapors come near to them and one goes inside Trip then out again in a different color. Reed scans him. The orange vapor comes back and leaves Trip again as it's original blue color. Archer says to help get Trip back inside. Trip describes where he was an Trip says it sounds like he was dreaming. He and Archer wait outside decon as Trip get checked out. They all get back into their uniforms. Trip leaves and Archer tells Reed he wants the weapons back online. Reed says he'll see what he can do. When Trip goes weird again, Archer, T'Pol and Reed find him the Mess eating a lot of food. "Trip" tells them that the other Trip is exploring another realm, his realm. He assures them Trip will be back. Reed says when they were outside, they saw a wisp of vapor enter him and asks if he had anything to do with that. "Trip" answers yes. Archer says he wants his crewman back and his ship released. The ship begins to move, and Reed calls the captain to the window to confirm it. Archer asks about his crewman and an orange wisp comes through the window between Archer and Reed. Trip is back and Archer, T'Pol and Reed go to him to find out where he'd been. Trip says they should all try it. Archer tells Reed to take him to Sickbay. Trip complies and lets Reed take him even though he says he feels fine. At T'Pol's urging, Archer decides to let the lifeforms trade places with volunteers among the crew. Reed is in the Armory when a vapor comes in. He tries to duck it and grabs a phase pistol. He shoots but it doesn't do anything. He runs into the corridor but stops when it enters him. The entity in Reed's body sees a woman pass and watches with interest. He jumps into a turbolift with another woman and asks if she's female. She's confused but answers yes. He says he's a male and there seem to be a number of anotomical differences. She leaves him the turbolift. He shows up next in T'Pol's quarters. He tells her she's very beautiful and that she's the most attractive woman on this ship. The entity in Reed's body asks if she wouldn't mind taking off her clothes. He tells her that if they are to engage in mating, it would be easier if she disrobed. T'Pol calls the capatin to bring a seurity team. The entity in Reed's body asks if she's afraid of him and then what it's like being a female. He says if she'd allow the crossing she could experience what it would be like to be male. She says she hasn't thought about and he says hshe should. The captain enters and T'Pol says it isn't Lt. Reed. Archer tells him that humans don't like doing things without their consent. He asks when he's planning on returning Malcolm Reed. The entity says that depends, so Archer says they'll see how much he enjoys experiencing being locked in Reed's quarters. Archer calls Trip to say they've got Malcolm and he wants to get the ship going. Trip asks what he did with the entity and Archer tells him he's locked in Reed's quarters. An entity takes Rostov in Engineering and Trip calls Archer to say he needs to get Malcolm--or whoever's running Security down there. Trip gets impulse engines back and Archer orders to hold position. Hoshi says she thought he said they needed to get out of there, but Archer tells her they have Malcolm and God knows how many others and they aren't leaving until they get them back. Archer gets the unaffected crew to the catwalks where the entities can't go, leaving Reed and 23 other affect crewmembers locked in their quarters, with only Phlox in the lower part of the ship with them. Archer hatches a plan to kill the 24 so that the entities will leave and then Phlox will revive them. Phlox accomplishes this and the entity in Reed's body collapses in his quarters. Hoshi returns to her body and the entity leaves, so one can assume the entity left Reed as well.

Judgement: In Archer's testimony flashback, Reed is on the Bridge when they receive a distress signal and investigate the ship that sent it. Reed reports that main propulsion is offline and life support is failing. The ship is in a bad way. After they take the survivors on board, Reed calls the captain to the Bridge, as a Klingon ship arrives. Reed says, "Perhaps they're bringing the supplies they promised." Archer asks how long until the ship arrives, and Reed says 17 minutes. Archer asks if all the survivors are on board and Reed answers yes, so Archer orders him to set the ship adrift and go to tactical alert. They analyze the ship around the Situation Table and Reed asks if there's a chance of outrunning them. T'Pol confirms they can't. He suggests sustained fire could get through there armor but he doubts they'd sit still long enough. Archer asks Reed about the sensors on the ship, whether they'd be susceptible to disruption if they ignite the plasma in the rings around the planet they are near. Reed says they should be and Archer asks him if he can modify a torpedo. Reed asks how long he has and T'Pol says 11 minutes. Reed leaves to modify the torpedo. He returns to the Bridge just as the Klingon ship arrives. He nods to the captain. The Klingon ship fires and Reed reports the hull plating at 80%. After they move being a large piece of debris, Reed calls out their distance. Archer orders him to fire and he fires the torpedo which ignites the plasma. He reports Enterprise's sensors are down. Archer is found guilty and sentences him to Rura Penthe for the rest of his life. In the present, T'Pol addresses the senior staff on the Bridge. She says they are to leave the Klingon Empire now. Reed asks if they are to abandon the captain. He says they are going to have to get there, but T'Pol says it's too dangerous to attempt a rescue and they should try diplomatic channels. He crosses his ams across his chest as they leave orbit. A cloaked figure enters the mines with a group of new arrivals. He approaches the captain with a pickax in his right hand. Archer's advocate, also sentences to the mines, stops him, and Reed takes off the hood of his cloak. Archer tells the advocate Reed is from his ship. Reed smiles and says it's good to see him. Archer introduces Kolos, the advocate. Reed explains how he got there, how they bribed the captain of a dilithium barge to bring him here and take them back. Archer asks if there is room for one more. Reed says he imagines so but they have to hurry. He puts his hood up and leaves. But the advocate refuses to go. Archer talks with him for a bit, then Reed urges him to come. He and the captain run up the stairs out of the mines.

Horizon: The senior staff meets around the Situation Table as the ship reverses course to observe a volcanic planet passing between two gas giants. Archer orders Travis to set the course and Reed and the others go to their posts. At dinner, Reed tells Travis that four years isn't so long. His last family reunion was almost a decade ago. Travis says Starfleet should consider putting families on starships. Reed nearly chokes, saying he must be joking. He says they'd better put a psychologist on board. He'd need one if his parents were wandering the cooridors. Travis gets a call from his mother and leaves Reed at the table to get it in his quarters. Reed is at Tactical as they approach the planet. Reed is on the Bridge as they orbit the planet and T'Pol finds biosigns of microbial lifeforms. On the Horizon, Travis tells his brother, the captain, that he'll talk to Lt. Reed, who could probably help them remove the alien explosive beacon on their hull.

The Breach: The senior staff gathers around the Situation Table to make a plan to rescue some Denobulan scientist trapped underground in some caves. Reed asks why the Denobulans don't evacuate them. Archer says they're too far. Archer asks Trip and Malcolm have any caving experience. Trip says Travis is an excellent teacher and Archer tells them to get their gear. Trip, Travis, and Reed leave the Bridge. The three of them go through their supplies as they load the shuttlepod. Reed answers Travis that they have 500 meters of flex cable. He looks askance at Travis when he asks about waste disposal units. Travis says they carry out everything they bring in. The captain arrives to tell them they have to get the Denobulans out in 3 days, by order of the planet's government. They head down to the planet and head into the caves, with Reed scanning but he finds nothing. He says he only sees 3 humans, one of which who is not convinced they're going the right direction. Travis leads them on and tells them to watch their footing because of all the loose rock. Reed sees and opening and calls them over. When they reach a cliff, Reed asks Travis if he's still convinced the scientists came that way. Reed holds the rope as Travis repels down. Trip and Reed both repel down. Trip loses his footing and Reed calls out to Travis. He's okay and they continue. They land on a ledge. Travis offers them a chance to take a break as he checks out what's below. They take the opportunity to get a drink of water. Reed sees something and asks what it is. Trip pulls it out and says it looks Denobulan. Reed jokes, "You don't suppose Denobulans carry out everything they bring in?" They eventually get to the floor and Reed says they went that way and points. Trip asks how he can tell. He points out some shining rocks and says if he was a geologist, he'd go that way. They come to a narrow ledge and Travis says to stay close to the wall. Reed says they don't have much choice. They shuffle across it. Travis locks off as it's getting steeper, and Reed slips off the edge. Since they are tethered together, they all fall, and the safety lock comes loose. They fall down a very long drop until Travis, at the rear catches his foot on something, breaking it, but also breaking their fall. Trip and Malcolm swing, trying to reach a handhold on the wall. The rope slips just as Trip manages to get a whatever-you-call it into a crevis. The manage to get back up to where Travis is. Trip tells Travis he isn't going with them anymore. He argues, but Reed tells him he'll only slow them down and they're already behind. He pats his shoulder and thanks him for getting them this far. Travis says it's not himself he's worried about. They laugh and Trip asks Reed to get him more light. Trip and Reed pull themselves forward on their backs. Trip asks if he's sure they came this way, but Reed says he didn't see any other openings. Trip says they'll give it another half hour, then Reed picks up 3 biosigns on his scanner. They make it out of that tunnel and stand up. They go around a corner and end up in a room with three Denobulan geologists. Trip introduces them. Reed tells them the Denobulan Science Academy asks them to find them. The geologists refuse to leave and Trip says they won't leave without them. Reed says the Science Academy will hold them responsible if they don't come with them. Their leader says they should stay down there where it's safe, but Reed argues they can't stay there forever. Trip tells them his orders are to get them and that's what he's going to do even if he has to tie them up and drag them. The leader says they can't make them leave. Trip says, "You wanna bet?" and Reed steps closer to him. Finally the leader says they'll need help with their samples, so Reed and Trip take off their gear to help. Finally on their way, they all five crawl back through the tunnels. The geologists stops and Reed asks what's the problem. The ground shakes and even the geologists hurry along. They reach the ropes and Reed and Trip clip on. Trip says it could be seismic activity but Reed says it sounds like high-yield weapons fire. A big rocks comes down and Trip asks if everyone is alright. Reed is the first to answer yes. Reed and Trip continue climbing their ropes while the Denobulans just climb the wall like spiders. One reaches the top and tells them the bombing has stopped. Reed tells Trip they need to hurry before they start up again. They reach Travis and have to pull him up with ropes as well. They manage to get to the shuttlepod and call Enterprise and T'Pol tells them a patrol ship is coming. Reed says he sees it and gives coordinates. The shuttlepod is hit and Reed says it's minimal damage as they are using low-power particle beams.

Cogenitor: Reed is on the Bridge as Enterprise approaches a hypergiant star. Reed asks how long until it goes supernova, and T'Pol answers approximately 200 years. The captain comments that it's too bad they won't be around, he turns his head slightly toward Malcolm, saying it will be one hell of an explosion. T'Pol reminds them that she might be, to which Trip, standing behind Reed, says they can't forget Vulcan longevity and asks how old would make her. Reed ducks his head but is grinning. A console beeps and Reed says that while Enterprise may not be to get closer, someone else has. The captain asks if he's found a ship? Reed gives the coordinates and distance. After contacting the ship, and docking with it, Trip is introducing a couple of visitors--women--to the joys of ice cream when Reed approaches and asks Trip if he isn't going to introduce him. Trip introduces him to the ladies and the ladies to him, the second of which is a Tactical Officer. Reed is very pleased to meet her and Trip invites him to sit down, seeing that the captain asksed them to mingle. Reed says he was just speaking to the Chief Engineer and his wife. Trip excuses himself and goes to the Chief Engineer who greets him by name, saying Lt. Reed pointed him out. Later, Reed and the Tactical Officer are in the mess and he is introducing her to various cheeses. She asks if there are 8 varieties and he replies there are hundreds or thousands. She asks why he chose these and he says they have the strongest smells of all the food they brought on board and she had complained that their food was aromatically bland. She lifts one and smells it, then says it's mild. He lifts another on a knife and suggests it to her. She finds it spicier and asks what it's called. He tells her it's Stilton and Chef says it's pretty pungent. She asks if he hasn't tried it and he replies that he hasn't for a long time. She gives it to him. He smells it and pulls his head back saying it's more than a little spicy. She feeds it to him and he nods, apparently finding it's not bad. She picks another, asking it's name. He says Alsatian Muenster. She smells it and asks if he finds it sensual. He replies, "Very." She feeds that to him and asks if they can see his Armory later. She'd like to see his tactical array. He says, somewhat sheepishly, that there's an old Earth expression, "I'll show you mine, if you show me yours." In the Armory, she asks if the torpedoes are armed with photonic warheads, but Reed isn't familiar with that. She says their weapons are more sophisticated than his. Reed comments that this technology must seem pretty antiquated to her, but she says antiquated can be quaint. He asks if that's how she sees them. She adds, "And charming." She asks what power source the phase pistols use. He replies serium microcells and says that must seem quaint too. She says they charge their weapons the same way. He offers to show her the phase cannon assembly. She agrees and he removes the hatch panel. He briefly explains the technology and yeild then apologizes for the crampt quarters. She tells him not to be sorry, as she's been trying to get closer to him all day. Then she says she was hoping to spend intimate time with him and maybe they could sleep together. Reed stands up so fast, he hits his head on the ceiling. He tells her that on Earth, a man usually asks a woman to dinner first. She tells him it's differnt on her planet. Only a woman who enjoys intimate time with the man will join him for dinner. Reed is back on the Bridge, as the Visian's ship leaves and then Archer has Travis take Enterprise away. (Side note: This is a very disturbing episode and I highly recommend it. It's heartbreaking. For Trip, and for the cogenitor.)

Regeneration: Reed is with the senior staff around the Situation Table to discuss what we know is Borg that were found in the Arctic on Earth, but they don't know the Borg yet. Reed says they're not exactly near the Arctic and asks what they can do. Archer tells him the transport that the aliens took left Earth travelling at warp 3.9. Phlox goes to the Armory and asks Reed if he asked for him. Reed tells him a lot of biometric data came from the files on the aliens, but he can't make heads or tails of it. He specifically needs help determining the yeild of the weapon-arm, so they can get a better idea what they're facing. He asks what sort of people would want to replace a perfectly good body part with cybernetic implants. Phlox tells him that he, of all people, should be open-minded about technology. Reed says he doesn't have a problem with it, so long as it stays outside his skin. Phlox asks if his heart were damaged, would Reed want him to let him die or replace it with a synthetic organ. Reed replies that that is different. Phlox tells him about the Binar and a very impressive cybernetic replacement surgery. Reed replies that he's sure it was [impressive], then asks, "Anything?." Phlox says he doesn't find any evidence of a weapon. Reed says the research team (that disappeared with the aliens) was heavily armed and asks how these aliens overpowered them. A bit later, Reed is on the Bridge when Enterprise picks up a distress call from a Tarkalian freighter. As Enterprise approaches Archer tries to contact the aliens. Reed reports they are charging weapons. Enteprise takes a hit and Reed reports it's some kind of proton beam. He says those transports are usually armed. Archer asks if he can disable their weapons. Reed replies that he believes so. He fires twice and reports their weapons are down. T'Pol reports survivors and Archer says to get a shuttlepod ready. He nods to Reed who leaves his seat to follow him to the Launch Bay. They bring the survivors on board and Archer tells Phlox he'll have Malcolm post a guard in Sickbay because the survivors are infected with nanoprobes. After Phlox and the guards are attacked, Reed helped one of his security officers off the floor while the captain helps Phlox up. Reed pulls out his scanner and where they exited Sickbay. Archer orders him to seal off the maintenance shafts and post guards at every access point, and to put them in decon with maximum security when they're found. Reed puts away his scanner and pulls out his phase pistol. Phlox tells him to use extreme caution as they're physical strength has been enhanced and it's critical he doesn't let them touch him. Reed and a Security team follow the trail of the Borged Tarkalians using a scanner in one hand and holding a phase pistol in the other. He notices some panel displays have changed then comes across the female modifying another area. He orders her to stop or he'll fire if he has to. He fires and she goes right back to what she's doing. He nods to the two others with him and they all three fire. She doesn't stop. He tells them to switch to maximum settings. They fire and this time, she comes after them. Reed orders his men to fall back and they retreat around a corner, only to find the male, who throws one officer away then throws another down and and injects him. Reed bats him in the neck with a rifle and he goes down. He helps the officer up and calls the Bridge to tell them where they are and that they are modifying systems. Archer asks T'Pol what's in there and she replies it's Warp Plasma Regulators. Archer asks Reed if he can stop them but Reed says their weapons were useless because the Tarkalians were equipped with some sort of energy shielding. Archer realizes there is an outer hatch in that section and orders Reed to clear his mean and seal the section off. He gets his men through hatch then follows as Enterprise drops out of warp and then seals it. He tells the Bridge they're clear. Archer orders Reed to work with Trip to find out what they were doing in there. Hoshi delivers food to Phlox for his animals and himself, as he's been infected. He asks her why she's wearing a phase pistol. She says it's Lt. Reed's idea. If Phlox comes near her, she should shoot him. Reed and Trip work on the circuits they modified. Reed asks what he thinks they were doing there. He asks Reed to hand him a tool. Reed hands him the tool then tells him their shielding was impressive. He says they might as well have been firing holographic bullets. Trip tells him it's too bad he didn't get a better look as that kind of technology could come in handy. Reed says there has to be a way for phase pistols to get through those shields. Thinking out loud, he says if he cross polarizes the power cells it might increase the particle yield. He tells Trip he'll be in the Armory. Archer joins T'Pol in the Mess. She tells him Lt. Reed informedd her that he, Archer, plans to disable the transport when they find it. Archer says Reed thinks he can disable the power systems without causing too much damange. Reed experiments in the Armory with a phase pistol, increasing the power bit by bit and at 10 megajoules, the phaser burns through it's target. Reed says that should do it. They'll reach the transport in less than an hour. They should try to modify as many weapons as they can. As Enterprise approaches the transport, Reed is on the Bridge. Reed reports the transpot has increased improved their defenses since they last saw them. Archer orders him to target the EPS manifold. Reed fires and the transport drops out of warp. Reed looks around in dismay as systems go haywire, after Hoshi reports an activation transmission she can't stop. The transport fires and Reed reports hull plating down to 80 percent. They take a few more hits and he reports it's down another 12 percent. Archer asks if the transporter is still online. Reed replies it is for the moment, so Archer says Reed's with him. Reed hands him a phase pistol as they walk, telling him he's doubled the particle yield but it may take a few seconds to recharge after each shot. They step onto the transporter pad and they both look up with uneasiness for a brief second. Reed sighs and they pull out their phase pistols and the transport is activated. Reed also has a case and once on the ship, Archer leads him with a scanner. They find a Borg recharging station occupied and then another. Reed keeps his phase pistol ready. Two Bord approach and they both fire, killing both of the Borg. Reed runs to where they've fallen. Archer walks and he scans them, saying one was one of the researchers. Reed asks, "Was?" Archer says the biosigns aren't human anymore. Reed looks up and draws the captains attention to the approaching four Borg. They retreat, phase pistols ready. They take down another two as they go. Reed asks, "Another human?" and Archer say, "Same as the others." They keep going a Borg grabs Reed from behind. He backs him up to a wall and lifts him by the throat. Archer doesn't have a shot without hitting Reed so he hits the Borg's head. Then he pulls out some of it's wires and when it's distracted, pulls it off Reed and back. Reed tackles it and they all three go down. It stays down, sparking and rocking back and forth, and they move on. They reach their objective, the EPS manifold, and Reed successfully shoots another Borg. Archer takes down another as Reed reaches into his case. Reed calls out to him when anotehr is behind him. Archer shoots and Reed sets charges. More Borg arrive and Archer shoots but they've adapted. He tells Malcolm to hurty then calls Enterprise to stand by on the transporter. They transport just before the Borg reach them. As soon as they materialize, Reed looks to Archer who nods. Reed presses a button and all his charges go off, disabling the transport and killing all the Borg in the vacinity. Reed and Archer return to the Bridge. Reed reports that something is happening on the transport. It's being repaired. They're charging weapons. Archer orders him to target their warp core and fire everything he's got. Reed fires four torpedoes and the phase cannon, destroying the transport.

First Flight: One would assume Reed is on the Bridge or in the Armory. Or maybe he was playing ping pong for all I know. He wasn't in this one.

Bounty: Reed is in command on the Bridge when Archer and Trip return because of an announced visitor to Enterprise. Archer asks for a report and Reed says it dropped out of warp thirty minutes before. The captain sent an audio message saying he wanted to speak to Enterprise's captain. Archer asks if Reed knows what he wants. Reed says he didn't say, but he did find the ship design in the Vulcan database. He says it's Tellerite. Reed returns to his post at Tactical while Archer speaks with the Tellerite captain. Reed is in command of the Bridge again when Archer and Trip go to meet the Tellerite captain at the airlock. Hoshi reports weapons fire at the airlock. Reed orders a security team down there and then tries to call the captain but gets no response. Travis says the Tellerite ship is trying to undock with the seals locked. Reed orders the emergency clamps be engaged as he joins Travis at the helm. Travis says the Tellerite ship has gone to warp and Reed orders to set a pursuit course. But Travis says the Tellerites have disabled the starboard nacelle. Reed orders the research teams on the surface back Enterprise. Trip takes over the Bridge and Reed goes back to his station. Reed reports a faint warp signature and gives Trip the bearing. He says it's irratic but it matches the Tellerite. As Enterprise approaches, Reed reports the signature is holding steady and appears to be orbiting a G-type star. Trip orders a Tactical Alert. Reed says it appears to be a beacon of some kind, emitting a warp signature identical to the Tellerite ship. Trip asks if anything else is on sensors and Reed shakes his head. He says they'll have to start all over, but Reed says they're getting too much interference from the decoy. Trip tells him to get rid of it, and Reed gives a little smile, saying, "With pleasure, sir." He fires the phase cannon and the decoy explodes. Later, Reed calls Trip to tell them they're approaching the next set of coordinates. When Trip returns to the Bridge, Reed tells him they have two identical warp signitures in the atmosphere, both decoys, but there is a ship on the surface with engine damage. It's not Tellerite and there's one biosign. Phlox calls the Bridge to convey that T'Pol, who's in Pon Farr has escaped Decon. Reed and a security team, in EV suits look for her. He tells the others that Phlox said she's irrational and to use caution. T'Pol runs into, calling him by name. She says she needs his assistance. Reed tells her they've been worried and tries to get her back to the doctor. She hangs on his suit and says the doctor refuses to treat her. She asks how long it has been, since he's mated. She says she's seen the way he looks at her on the Bridge. He says they should discuss this in decon. She says her quarters would be more comfortable. He pushes her away and says "Doctor Phlox was very insistant." He reaches for his phase pistol and she pushes him against a wall,m knocking him off balance in the EV suit, while she makes her getaway. He and the other security corner her in a junction. He points his phase pistol at her and tells her to follow him. She yells and runs toward him and he shoots, then checks to see that she's okay after she falls. Back on the Bridge, Reed hears Hoshi report they're being hailed by the Tellerite ship. Reed reports a bit later that he's got the Klingon ship the Tellerite told them about and gives the heading. Trip orders Travis to set the course and Reed to go to Tactical Alert. Travis calls out that he sees the captain's escape pod. Trip asks about the Klingons and Reed says they are closing in on him. Enterprise takes a few shots and the Klingons drop their tractor beam. Reed reports they are charging weapons and Trip orders him to return fire. Trip tells Travis to deply the grappler and Travis says they're not making it easy. Trip turns to Malcolm, who says he's trying but their weapons ports are heavily shielded. After they get the pod, Reed smiles and reports their weapons are down. Reed is still at Tactical when Archer returns to the Bridge. Archer asks where T'Pol is as Trip goes to stand by Reed. Trip tells him she's in decon with Phlox. Archer asked what happened and Trip and Reed give each other a look before Reed says it's a long story.

The Expanse: Trip is with the senior staff for a briefing. He says it has to be something pretty serious, just as Trip walks in and asks what's going on. Reed replies that the captain called them all there. They discuss what it might be and Reed is saying, "Maybe it has something do with the f--" just as the captain walks in to tell them Earth has been attacked. Reed and the others stand up at that news. He says there may have been a million casualties and Reed repeats "A million?" in shock. Enterprise heads back to Earth. Trip is talking with the captain and T'Pol when Reed calls from the Bridge to inform the captain that 8 Suliban ships are approaching at high warp. Archer orders Tactical Alert. On the Bridge, systems start to fail as Archer tries to hail the Suliban. Reed is the first to realize the captain is missing. After he is return, they return to the Sol system on April 4, 2153. Travis points out their sun as they approach and Reed looks up until he gets a beep on his console. He reports a vessel dropping out of warp and then that they've fired. He didn't says what they've fired before they're hit. He reports both phase cannons are out and Archer tells him he still has torpedoes. The Klingons are beat back by three Earth vessels that came to the rescue. Reed goes with Trip to where his sister's house used to stand. He says he's so sorry. Trip points out a few things. Reed asks if he was certain she was here when it happened. Trip says someone would have heard from her if she wasn't. Back on Enterprise, Reed introduces Trip to photonic torpedoes and explains what they can do with a hint of pride. Trip asks how long it will take to reconfigure the tubes. Reed says he's got three teams on it promising to have it done before they leave for the Expanse. But he needs to start integrating them into the power grid. Trip says "Let's go," and he and Reed walk out of the Armory. Reed aks, as they walk, if there will be a service. Trip answers him tersely that there's nothing left of her for a funeral. Reed then tries saying he was talking about a memorial. Trip says she wasn't big on memorials. Trip says Lizzie wasn't into memorials. Reed then tries saying he is sorry Trip missed the Day of Remembrance for the victims a few months before. But Trip turns on him asking why he's so obsessed with memorials. Reed says he's no, but Trip keeps going saying she's dead but so are 7 million others and she's no more important than any of the others. Reed says, "She was more important to you. And there's nothing wrong with admitting that." Trip says he's getting tired of Reed telling what he can and can't do and he doesn't need Reed reminding Trip that she's dead. He turns and Reed starts to walk with him but Trip turns again and says he should maybe pay more attention to upgrading his weapons so they can blow the hell out the bastards who did it when they find them. He walks off leaving Reed staring after him. Reed is on the Bridge as Enterprise leaves spacedock. The Klingons show up again and Archer tells him Reed he's been wanting to try out those new torpedoes. Reed asks what yield and Archer tells him to start low. Reed reports they're still out there. Archer tells him to bring the yield up fifty percent. The Klingon ship takes damage and drops out of warp. Reed asks if he should stand down weapons. Archer nods. Reed is on the Bridge again as they approach the Delphic Expanse, from where the attack came from. Enterprise takes some hits from three Klingons who are on them again. Reed is nearly rocked out of his seat. As the enter the Expanse, Reed reports only one Klingon ship is next. Archer notes his torpedoes aren't having the same effect as last time. Reed explains Duras has transferred his aft shields forward and they can't penetrate them. Archer gets a plan to fire at Duras's stern and has Travis excute a maneuver. Archer tells Reed to fire when they end up behind the Klingon ship. The Klingon ship is destroyed and Enterprise heads into the Expanse.

Season 3

Season 4

Storm Front, Part I:

Storm Front, Part II:

Home: Reed along with the senior staff accompanies the captain down to a large stadium filled with dignitaries and cheering people. He shakes hands with Admiral Forest and a couple others, then turns to stand behind the beside Trip who is tbehind the captain's right as he gives his speech honoring the 27 who didn't make it back. Reed dips his head and nods sadly. Later, in a bar, Malcolm gives a couple of ladies his autograph and tells them that unfortunately, that it's against regulations to give tours of the ship. Travis ribs him about wearing his Enterprise jacket. Reed says he didn't wear it to get attention. A person comes up and starts giving Phlox a hard time, in subtle ways. Reed is not sitting well with it but keeps his mouth shut. Phlox suggest they leave, but Reed says they're not going anywhere. Travis says there will be no chasing anyone away. Reed stands up when the guy still persists and tells him that perhaps he should go back to the bar. A few other people stand up with the man. The man says he doesn't take orders from from him and shoves him. The man throws a punch at Reed but he blocks it and throws one of his own. Reed puts him on the ground. Others are fighting until Phlox puffs his face up as one comes toward him. All fighting comes to a stop. Reed quizzically asks, "Doctor?" with just a hint of a smile.

Borderland: Reed and the rest of the senior staff are still in civilian clothes but on the bridge around the Situation Table as the captain describes Soong's crimes. He mentions that Soong worked at Cold Station 12 and Reed asks if that isn't where Starfleet stockpiles infections diseases. The captain affirms that but says are also where they store gentically-engineered embryos left over from the Eugenics Wars. Reed asks what the Augments (grown up embryos Soong stole) they'd want with a Klingon ship? He then realizes the captain means to bring Soong along. The captain says he knows the Borderland. Hoshi asks what the Borderland is. Reed says it's the area where the Klingon ship was attacked and T'Pol explains more. The captain says they have to find the Augments and bring them back. As Soong comes on board, Reed stands beside the captain. The captain introduces T'Pol and then Reed. Soong says he's heard of him, but he doesn't recognize his face. He tells Reed he's not getting his fair share of the publicity. Reed says he thinks he's had all he can stand. As the ship is about to launch, Archer looks about at the crew and Reed, when the captain gets to him, gives a slight smile as the captain said, "Well, here we are again." Archer then adds, "I wouldn't have it any other way." Later, Reed reports two vessels coming up behind them. T'Pol confirms they are Orion Intercepters. Archer tells Reed to keep firing. After T'Pol and eight others are beamned away, Reed reports the ships have gone to warp. They are gone. Archer questions Soong in is quarters and gets the name of the closest processing station at Verix III, the captain calls the bridge and Reed responds. Archer orders him to set course for Verix III. When they try an identification code from Soong to get in, Reed comments he hasn't used it in years. But it does eventually work. After the rescue of the crew, Reed again reports two Orion Intercepters. Archer has Reed fire. Reed reports they are targeting Enterprise's nacelles, and the ship drops out of warp. Another ship comes to the rescue, and it's the Augments' Klingon ship. Reed and a Maco accompany the leader of the Augments as he talk to Archer. The Augment attacks the captain and Reed and the Maco pull their weapons, but the Aument threatens to tear out Archer's throat. Reed lowers his weapon and the Macos do the same. Other Augments board the ship and Reed has to let them take Archer hostage.

Cold Station 12: Reed is part of the team that go looking at the coordinate's Soong had given them, the old living place of the Augments. They find what looks like a classroom and Reed quips, "Imagine having Soong as your teacher." Reedf goes looking at the rest of the place, unaware of an Augment left behind. He and a Maco go looking through caves. They spot the Augment and give chase. They corner him with the captain and Archer orders Malcolm to lower his weapon. The Augment attacks but the captain is able to subdue him. Later, Reed is on the Bridge as the ship nears Cold Station 12. The captain is forced to turn the ship around and Reed looks frustrated. Trip beams Reed, some Macos, Phlox, the not-so-Augmented Augment they had, and the captain to the station. The captain has to shoot twice to take down one of the Augments. Reed comments that if that's what it takes to stun them, he wonders what it would take to kill them. They stand back as Phlox gets them into a relay. He's going to cut the air. Reed reminds him they are stronger than humans, but Phlox says even Augments need air. They are ambushed by Augments and captured. They are brought to the control room. Reed is put in a containment cell while the captain and Smike, the not-so-Augment are still out with the Augments, Soong, and Phlox. Eventually, they are put in the containment cell, too, and the captain uses that opportunity to try and get free. Reed tries to get out but Malik, the Augment leader manages to shut him and the others in. As the Augments leave, Reed and the others are out. Reed looks at the controls with the head doctor as he tries to stop a containment breach. The doctor says it the pathogen containment breach the Augments left behind can't be stopped from there. Reed asks where else? The captain goes to the primary junction where it can be stopped, and Reed guides him via the comm system with under 40 seconds to go. At less than 20 seconds, the doctor says he's isolated their room. Reed asks about the captain.

The Augments: Reed and the others are evacuated from the station. In Sickbay, Reed, T'Pol, and Trip report to the captain. Reed reports the Augments crossed the Klingon border 2 hours ago. He says Soong knows the Klingons would intercept them if they follow. Then he says perhaps they could fake a Klingon warp signature. Later, they head in and the captain orders a Tactical Alert. They catch up to the Augments' ship. They take a hit but Reed says forward plating is holding. Archer order him to fire. He reports their warp field is fluctuating. Reed continues firing. But they have to stop to rescue a Denobulan shuttle. After they get on the pursuit again, a Klingon Battle Cruiser approaches. Reed reports they'll be in visual range in two minutes. Archer talks with them (and is translated into Klingon) and Reed reports they are moving off. They find a distress signal and then Reed and the captain, with backup, open it to find Soong. Reed is on the Bridge as another ship approaches. Reed reports it as a D-5 Class Battle Cruiser, a lot bigger than the previous one. They fire and Reed reports aft plating failing. Reed suggests they may be able to surprise them with a torpedo if Enterprise drops out of warp. Archer orders them to drop out of warp but to deploy the grappler. Archer gives the order and Reed fires the grappler. They pull the Klingon ship until the grappler breaks free, leaving the Klingon ship disabled. They finally catch up to the Augments' ship. Reed says weapons are ready. The captain orders Reed to finre at the torpedo carrying three pathogens. He hits it, destroying it. They then have to contend with the Augments' ship. Reed reports they've hit the Armory. Archer tells him to target the Klingon ship's bridge, but Soong tells them a differenht target and Archer orders Reed to target it. They disable the ship. Reed reports they are overloading their matrix, that they're going to destroy their ship.

The Forge: Reed is with the senior staff, minus T'Pol, playing basketball. Reed's team of himself, the captain and Doctor Phlox lose just before T'Pol comes to say there's been word from Starfleet Command. Travis and Reed go down to examine the site of an explosion in the Earth embassy on Vulcan. Reed finds the security banks still in one piece. Travis finds a weak power signature under the mess and Reed says it's probably emergency lights. But when Travis lifts some debris, he asks for Reed's attention. Reed sees a bomb and sees it armed, he says the timing mechanism might be damaged. He warns that the slightest vibration might set it off. Reed calls Enterprise to get a transporter lock. Travis asks why not beam the bomb out. Reed says that if it has a gravity switch it will go off when it is beamed. He says he's going to attempt to scan the bomb. Travis says, "Attempt?" Reed says that if he designed the bomb, he'd design it to go off as soon as a sensor beam hit it. He tells Travis to look on the bright side: "If it detonates, we'll never know." He scans and finds Vulcan DNA on the bomb. When he boosts scan resolution, the bomb begins to beam. Reed curses and calls Enterprise for the beam out. They beam just as the bomb explodes. Archer orders that Lt. Reed and Commander T'Pol will work with the Vulcan's to find T'Pau, who's DNA was found on the bomb, but he is refused. The captain, preparing to go to the Forge on Vulcan, gives orders for Trip and Reed to continue the investigation and believe the opposite of anything the Vulcans tell them. Phlox shows them an anomaly in the DNA. Reed asks what kind of anomaly. The doctor shows the DNA is from an infant, planted to point to T'Pau. Reed says there's no way to get word to him, meaning the captain. Trip shows the doctor the recording Reed recovered from the embassy. Reed says a certain point is when T'Pau's biometric signature was introduced. Trip points out the guard, who is a patient in Phlox's sickbay. Unfortunately, he's in a coma. Reed asks if Phlox doesn't have a stimulant or anything to wake him up, even for a few minutes.

Awakening: As former ambassador Soval prepares to go to the Forge. Travis calls Trip and says he's rigged a stick and rudder system for the shuttlepod they're going to take. Trip tells him not to tell Malcolm that until they're well underway. Trip tells Reed that Admiral Gardner followed the Vulcan line, ordering Enterprise away. Reed asks if he told the Admiral about Archer. Trip says he left that part out. Travis and Reed set out in the shuttlepod. Reed comments, when it gets bumpy, that he probably should have skipped breakfast this morning. The shuttlepod rocks harder and he says says it's no thermal. He realizes they're being shot at. He says the weapons still work but he's lost targetting. He asks Travis to get behind them. They take some shots. The shuttlepod has to turn back. Trip later tells Soval there were two injuries. We don't know if either are Reed.

Kir'Shara:

Daedalus: Emory Erickson, inventor of the transporter, comes to visit for experimenting with a concept of subquantum transporting. Reed is checking weapons in the Armory when the lights go out. He says he'll take "up" while ordering the other officer there to go down. He climbs to the upper level, looking for what's causing the lights to flicker. The other guy goes in an adjoining compartment. A distortion floats behind him then hits. He screams and falls. Reed calls for Sickbay, saying "Crewman down!" then turns the guy over to find a severely distorted face on a dead Crewman Burros. He pulls back in shock.

Observer Effect: Reed and Travis are playing chess and discussing it strangely. They do the math and Travis tells Reed he'll win in eight movies. Reed says there are only 10 to 123rd power possible moves. Travis says it is so predictable. Reed tells him their average lifespans are only about 100 years. It's not likely they'll have time to play every game. Travis says it's a waste. Reed reminds him "no emotional involvement." Travis says he knoews the rules, "Observation without interference." Then he notes Reed will win in five moves. Reed says he's the ship's champion. He wins all the tournaments. Travis asks how Reed thinks they'll react to the planet below. Reed tells him that's what they're here to observe, but in his experience all physical species are alike. He doesn't expect humans will be any different. Travis asks if their hosts might die? Reed says it's possible. He's seen whole crews die before and other times, only a few crewmembers. Travis says, "But someone always dies?" Reed replies, "Always." Later, Reed is on the bridge when the shuttlepod returns carrying Hoshi a severely coughing Trip. Later, Travis and Reed walk on the cooridor. Travis mentions that he read his superior's (Reed) report on the Klingon's reactions. Reed replies that they did what was expected for a species in their development. Travis notes that the Klingon captain didn't let the sick crew back on the ship. Captain Archer did. Reed points out that the launch bay and decon are completely isolated from the rest of the ship. Travis comments that, in that case, there's really no difference between them. Reed says they don't want to interact with the dying crew anymore than the Klingons did. He says that if it was up to him, they'd stop their observations. There's nothing more to learn from humans. Travis argues they are showing concern for each other, as the Cardassians did. Reed points out that, in the end, the Cardassians killed the infected crew, just as the Klingons did. The only difference was the time it took to reach that decision. Travis says maybe they'll be surprised. Reed says he's been observing aliens for 800 years and is yet to be surprised. Still, he says, they should stick to protocol. He tells Travis to question the infected crew and he'll talk to the doctor. Reed goes to Sickbay and looks around. He tells the doctor, when he asks "headache" and as Phlox is getting something for it, Reed asks about the blood tests for Ensign Sato and Commander Tucker. Then when the doctor finds no vascular involvement, Reed doesn't seem to understand. The doctor says it must not be a bad one. Reed says it's not yet, but it feels like it will get worse. Preventative measure. He has a lot to do today. The doctor gives him a mild analgesic. Reed tells the doctor he's curious how the blood tests will help him develop an effective treatment. The doctor says, "So am I." Then Reed asks if he's approaching this on a symptomatic level or does he believe there's any similarity to any other illness he's seen in the past. The doctor escorts him toward the door, assuring him that anything they have can't spread to the rest of the ship. Reed tries to tell him he's interested in the methodology, but the doctor shooes him out saying he has a lot to do as well. In the mess, Travis tells Reed that the doctor has found the pathogen. Reed notes that happens 37 percent of the time. Travis comments that no one has made the decision to abandon the infected crewmembers. Reed says that this could be one of the times when everyone dies. Later, they walk the cooridoors again, debating the humans' response. T says they are looking for evidence of elevated intelligence in the aliens they observe. Reed, says yes, but rational intelligence and Archer hasn't demonstrated. The longer the infected crew remain on board, the greater the risk of quarantine will fail. Travis says he's sure Archer knows the risk but may be more concerned with standing by his crew. Reed argues it's just as probable that he hasn't realized just how hopeless this is. Travis says there's one way to be sure. Reed takes him to a more private corner. He says they've chosen the helmsman and the Tactical Officer for good reasons. They are both stationed on the bridge but neither plays a crudcial role in a medical emergency. Travis says they should inahbit the dictor and the science officer. Archer relies on their findings to make his decisions. They could observe that as it happens. Reed tells him that the more people they inhabit the more likely they will inadvertantly interfere. Travis argues that the more thet inhabit, the more they can observe. On the Bridge, Archer shows Reed a crater where the meteor carrying a silocon-based virus hit to bring the virus. He says the Klingons at the campsite near there may have run into the virus, too. He orders Reed to contact Starfleet Command on a priority channel. They need to find out which Klingon ship set up that camp and if they found a cure. Later, Archer tells Reed and Travis that Starfleet contact him and is going through diplomatic channels, but he may not need it. He find a Klingon alloy and Reed identifies it as a standard Klingon hull plating. Archer shows he found it in orbit. They destroyed their shuttle craft. Reed comments that they didn't even plead for mercy. Then he catches himself and says, "I mean, they wouldn't. They were Klingon, weren't they?" Later, Reed calls out a quarantine breach on D-Deck. The decon chamber has been unsealed. He says someone is overriding all the safety interlocks. Archer tells him to shut down power to D-Deck to seal all the doors. On the Bridge later, Travis goes to Tactical and quietly tells Reed they can stop what the virus is doing to the humans. Reed reminds him that's not why there here. Travis tells him they came to observe the unexpected not to watch them suffer. Reed says this is not the place to have this discussion. (The observers switch hosts.) Reed is back on the Bridge as the captain makes the decision with the doctor to move the patients to Sickbay. Later, he supervises the quarantine and Archer and Phlox, in EV suites, go in. Travis is with him as they watch Archer exposing himself to the virus. Reed remarks again, "Someone always dies." They observe the captain taking off his gloves and then his helmet. Reed says he doesn't understand. Travis asks if he's ever seen anyone do that in 800 years. Reed says no, not once they know it's hopeless. Hoshi dies. Travis asks Reed how many have to die before he will admit humans are different. They need to stop this. Reed says he won't depart from protocol. He says the incident isn't over. After the first death there's a 68 percent chance the rest of the crew would become infected. Travis asks what more will that teach. Reed says this would have happened even if they weren't there to observe. He says they are not responsible. Travis says maybe they should be. Trip dies. Later, after the Organians bring Hoshi and Trip back and save the captain, Reed asks Travis if he knows what they've done. They'll never be able to observe another species encounter this virus again. Travis says it's good. He looks forward to making his first report. After ten thousand years the protocols need to be changed. Reed tells him the humans have not been a good influence on him. He should avoid all future contact. Travis says he doesn't think they can prevent it. He says he's going to recommend start preparations for an official first contact mission with the humans. Reed says that at the rate they're progressing, that barely gives them five thousand years to prepare. Travis says they should get started.

Babel One: Reed reports that, judging by the debris field, the Andorian ship's warp core breached. He reports a few miutes later that there are escape pods. Reed and T'Pol are with the debris. Reed confirms the damage on the hull fragments are consistent with Tellarite cannons. Reed is back on the Bridge as an Andorian ship approaches. He reports a power build-up and then says they are opening fire just before Enterprise takes a hit. He rocks with each shot. Archer orders return fire with phase canons. Reed reports no damage. Shran goes to Malcolm's station to access the targetting array and gives him the coordinates of the shield generator. Archer orders him to fire when ready. Reed reports a direct hit. Hoshi reports their shields still at maximum. Shran says that's impossible. Enterprise takes some more hits and Reed reports dorsal plating almost gone. Archer orders torpedoes, maximum yield. T'Pol notes a fluctuation in the ship's power grid. Archer tells Malcolm good work as the ship moves off. But Reed says it wasn't his doing. He didn't target their power grid. Later, Reed calls Archer at dinner to say they believe they've found the Andorian ship. Archer comes the Bridge and and different ship is there, dormant. Reed defends what he said saying the warp trail ends there. Archer orders Reed to take a team of Macos and find out who is on that ship. Reed says life support is off-line. Archer tells him to take Trip with him. In EV suits, Trip, Reed, and two MACO's beam over. Reed orders the MACO's to start in one direction. Trip says the whole ship is depressurized. Reed commends he hopes the whole place isn't as cramped. He orders everyone to stay alert. Suddenly lights come on, Reed asks s what's happening. Trip says he didn't do anything. The ship starts firing and Archer orders to get their people back. The away team is being bounced around, but Enterprise only one at a time. One of the MACO's is beamed over. Then the other but then the transporter goes out. Archer calls to tell them they can't transport and will be back for them. Reed says they'll be fine, sir. As the ship takes off, Reed is thrown around and loses his oxygen hose. He chokes out "Trip" and Trip gets the hose back on, but says he's down to eight minutes. Reed says they're not going to get far sharing Trip's supply. Trip says he'll try to get life support online. Reed says, "Let's hope they don't breathe fluorine." Later, Reed asks hope if he's had any luck. Trip says he can't find anything that even looks like life support. Reed says they must have it on their Bridge. They go looking for the Bridge and find another access tube. Trip reminds him his air is down to 26 minutes. Reed suggests perhaps the Bridge is on a lower deck. There's no rule to say it has to be at the top. Trip points out the data conduits and says they probably converge on the Bridge. Reed makes small talk, saying he understands their first officer is no longer married. Trip just gives a, "Yeah?" Reed says he just wonders what his intentions were. Trip asks if he's her father. Reed laughs and says he's just curious. Trip tells him he's found something. Malcolm opens it. Trip says it's a maneuvering thruster and it's chemically fueled, "liquid hydrogen and oxygen!" Reed realizes they can refuel their tanks. As they work, Trip asks Reed how he's holding up. Reed says he's a little light-headed. Trip jokes that's nothing new. Trip says he should have known better than to get involved with a fellow officer. He syas there's nothing going on between he and T'Pol now if he's interested. Reed says that's not why he asked. Trip reminds him he did say she had an awfully nice bum. Reed says that's true. Trip gets the oxygen going and they fill Reed's tank. Then Trip fills his own. The ship starts making evasive maneuvers and blowing the two around. Reed tells Trip to magnetize his boots and they are able to move better. They make it to the Bridge but find no one on board.

United: Reed and Trip are still being buffeted by the remote ship but their magnetic boots are holding. The ship stabilizes for attack. Trip asks Reed if he's still in one piece. Reed tells him he'll let him know when his head stops spinning. Trip realizes they are firing. Reed tells Trip to brace himself as they'll be sure to fire back. He's right and the ship rocks with the shot. Reed finds some circuits live after the ship stops but he doesn't know what they're for. Trip thinks he's found environmental controls. Reed there's should be by the looks of the Bridge stations. Trip gets them going and says that in a few minutes there will be heat and air. Reed wonders aloud if it's possible there is no one else on board. Trip asks why a robot ship would have a Bridge like this. Reed says it could be a prototype, a regular ship outfitted with remote controls. Trip says then they have to find the off switch. The ship goes back to warp. Trip wonders if all the controls perhaps are still connected. Trip makes some alterations and finds the propulsion controls. He's sure a backup will switch on again. A display shows where they are and then and adjoining room. Trip thinks it's the propulsion unit he just shut down. They open it and Trip goes through. He says he's going to flip through circuit breakers and wants Reed to tell him what happens on the diagram. A doop closes and Trip is sealed in. Reed says he didn't do it. They both try to open the hatch. There is a voice that talks to them saying he controls the ship. Radiation starts to affect Trip. The voice says he has seven minutes to restart the helm control or he dies. Trip tells Reed to pay attention to the board but Reed says he should stay away from the door. Reed tells him the board is off as Trip does something. He tells Reed the radiation is falling, but the voice turns it back on. Trip continues taking things apart trying to shut off the radiation. He tells Reed he should have brought his helmet. Reed tells the voice he'll reconnect the matrix, open the hatch. Trip says no. The voice says to do his duty and save his commander's life. Reed tells the voice he's reconnecting and to shut off the radiation. He does it and they open the hatch. Reed puts his helmet on him. They get sealed in. Trip asks why he didn't listen to him, but Reed says they're better off in here. The ship goes into warp. Trip says he told him not to help them. Reed apologizes for saving his life and he won't do it again. Trip says, "Sorry."He asks Trip if he ever read the manual that came with his phase pistol, a warning about inadvertant overload. He shows him his empty holster. Trip asks how long. Reed says by now, less than a minutes. He takes the access panel off and they rush through it as best they can. Trip says they've got to be a safe distance by now but Reed says he wired it right into the power conduit and they are blown foward. The ship goes dead. They get up and keep going forward, getting blown forward at least once more as the explosion snakes across the drone. Trip asks if he did all thath with just one phase pistol. Reed tells Trip he's good at building things, but he, himself, is good at blowing them up. Trip says he thinks they should get to the outer hull. Reed thinks they should get somewhere with an atmosphere, but Trip thinks he can rig a communication from the outer hull. Trip realizes the systems are coming back online. Reed asks about the warp matrix, but Trip says not yet. They'll have to hurry to contact Enterprise. T'Pol picks up two human biosigns but can't get a transporter lock. They try calling and Reed answers they're both there. Enterprise fires and Reed asks if they remember they're on board. Trip says they're probably trying to take out the weapons. He asks Enterprise if they can transport. Archer tells them they must get closer to the outer hull. They are thown against the hull. Trip tells Enterprise but T'Pol can't get a lock. Archer tells them to get out of the ship. Reed gets the hatch open, saying he can't imagine how things can get much worse. Trip says he can and together they go out the hatch. They float nearby and watch Vulcan ships approach. The remote ship goes to warp as a Vulcan ship passes over them. Reed says they left us. He tells Trip he was right, this is worse, but then Archer asks if anyone needs a lift and they are beamed out. While taking off the EV suite, Reed complains that if he had to wear his helmet one more minute, it would have fused to his skull. He says he'd like to find whoever designed the suit and make him wear it for three days. Trip laughs and, more seriously, thanks him for what he did back there. Reed says Trip would have done the same for him. Trip, with a straight face, tells him he took a big chance, which makes it all the more difficult to do what he's going to do. He's going to put him on report. Reed is incredulous. He asks "You're what?" Trip says he disobeyed a direct order. Reed argues he saved Trip's life. He says if Trip puts a reprimand in his file, it could be years before he's even elligible for a pro--but then he notices Trip smiling. Trip laughs and Reed asks if he's pulling his leg. Trip just keeps laughing and throws one of his gloves at Reed, saying "Malcolm, you're just such an easy target." Malcolm smiles and throws the glove back at him.

The Aenar: Reed and Trip are in on a briefing about the drone. He's sitting beside Shran who has stayed aboard. T'Pol reports the drone is being controlled by telepresence. Reed asks if that means there really was no one on board the drone. Trip talks to T'Pol about being on the ship with Malcolm and being convinced he was going to die. Reed tells the captain, as the latter prepares to beam down to Andoria with Shran, that the Aenar compound is surrounded by a dampening field, meaning they can't contact the ship once they're in. He says he'd feel better if the captain took some MACO's. Shran explains that beaming down with a show of force would be a mistake. Reed pleas to the captain that they don't know anything about these people. The captain says that's why he's going. After the Ticonderoga goes missing, Archer tells T'Pol to tell Malcolm to finish his upgrades to the targetting scanners. If they run into the drone marauder again, he wants every shot to count. (Approx. 4 minutes of my DVD are no longer watchable here after the drones are deployed. Cannot say if Reed is involved, though one can assume he's on the Bridge at his station and once I can view it again, Enteprise does destroy the last drone.)

Okay, back to DS9 Season 5 for now. After Season 6 there, I'll rewatch Season 3 of Enterprise, then Season 7 of DS9 and then the rest of Season 4 Enterprise. Why did I mix it up? Research for Philippe's story. Needed to get some Season 4 info. Decided to kill two birds with one stone.
